My daughter moved into a new apartment and asked for my help with decorating it. I have many projects planned, and will share them as I go along. When I'm finished, I will post the reveal! But until then, one project at a time.
You can see the post here.
But, the fabric was purchased for the first project! Here is a photo of the sofa my daughter and I picked out. She bought the matching loveseat, too.
I just love the cocoa color, the rolled arms, and the soft chenille fabric. The accent pillows? Not so much.
This side isn't bad...
...but this side just won't work in my plan!
So, I took them apart and removed the stuffing. Is it just me, or is this stuffing creepy?
I got out my trusty sewing machine, which gets used about once every two years. I stitched the new fabric (which was 50% off at Jo-Ann's) and the brown fabric together.
I turned them right side out.
I left a small gap in each, so I could put the creepy stuffing back in. Then, I hand stitched them closed.
Here are the finished pillows!
Cost of this project: $15! You will see how they look in her apartment when I post the big reveal! But first, I have to get started on the next project--a hall tree!

The pillows look wonderful! I think you did the right thing by changing them. The new fabric is gorgeous and I can't wait to see the whole room together. Beautiful sofa!
I loved that fabric on your tablescape and now I love on those pillows! Looks great with the color of the couch!
Love that fabric Elaine! Ewww what is that creepy stuffing? It looks...itchy to me LOL! Can't wait to see the reveal!
very cute i loved the fabric on your tablescape and love it even more as pillows
This is exciting! My daughter too just moved into a sweet house and she has allowed me limited decorating. She wants to do most of it, but I got to place the furniture, etc. Next time you sew pillows, leave the opening in the center bottom, that way you have four perfect corners and only have to stitch closed a simple seam instead of a corner.
Love the soft colors of your fabric selection! Tablescape is really beautiful.
