Hope and Sunshine...

It's been a tough week here in Colorado. You like to believe where you live is a safe place, but something like what happened at the movie theater could happen anywhere. It's difficult to read about the victims without a breaking heart. I hope the healing can begin.

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.” --Mohandas K. Gandhi

Living up to my reputation as the Queen of Procrastination, I put together my tablescape today. It's not as hot as it has been, but I did burn myself grabbing the flatware when I was done! I guess I was pretty determined to set an outdoor table!

I hope you think it was worth it!

I tried to shoot the photos while standing in
the shade, but the sun still found me!

The fabric I used for my topper was my inspiration this week. I bought it for a project I am doing for my daughter's apartment. This is the only time it will be on a table!

The glass bird worked best for this table.

Of course, it's past peony season, but I think
these silk ones are very pretty! Were you fooled?

Etched glasses, blue glass cups, white and blue plates, and mosaic vase are from Goodwill.
Taupe plates and matching bowls are from Ross.
Plain stemware is from Dollar Tree.
The rest of the things came from somewhere, but my brain is fried, so I won't even guess.

What a pretty and "cool" tablescape -- even if it was hot outside. I can definitely see how you were inspired by the fabric! It makes a great statement, and you complemented it really well with your dishes and accessories. So glad I didn't miss it!

An absolutely GORGEOUS tablescape- wow, beautiful and then some- it all comes together perfectly.

I am so sorry you burned yourself outside doing it- I cannot take much more of this heat and drought - it rained yesterday- and we needed it so much, but now it is just like a swampy hot humid mess with the sun back out today.

Ugh. I loathe summers like this. Ya can't DO anything outdoors!!!!!

Anyway, enough of my complaints, I LOVE your table.

Oh Elaine you were so brave to set a table outside even though it was just a tad cooler today! I love the fabric and the taupe plates. Yep, your faux flowers fooled me lol! Your photos are so beautiful!

Hi Elaine!

The colors of your table somehow mask the heat of your backyard. And with that peony and I would think it's Spring!
We can pretend, can't we?

Thanks for sharing at my party :)

That fabric was the perfect inspiration! Even the silverware looked perfect! I would probably be keeping that fabric because that is so pretty! I am deeply saddened by the tragedy here in CO as well.

What gorgeous fabric! You'll have to show us how you use it for your daughter's place. I really need to hit a fabric store for some table-toppers like this! I love the colors you've used with the wonderful pattern.

Elaine, I just got the gift card I sent you back in the mail, saying there is no such number?
I must have copied it wrong from the email.
Could you resend it? I was wondering why I didn't hear from you that you got it! I will remail it right away!
I'll be back to visit your table!

Yes, ma'am! Totally worth it! I am glad that you were brave enough to get out there! We actually got some rain last night after like 6+ consecutive weeks without any, so the air was cooler albeit quite a bit more humid this morning. The sun is going full blast right now, and we're sittin' in the mid-90s which is as cool as it has been for quite sometime. Back into the triple digits by the weekend. :-( I LOVE that mosaic vase!!!!!!!!!! (And yes, I was fooled at first by the flowers in your centerpiece. That's the hallmark of good faux flowers, though!)

I just realized I hadn't commented yet! Looks like a nice cool summer day in Colorado from this table. The vase is so pretty and that silverware looks different each time you use it.

Hi, I'm visiting from Feathered Nest Friday Blog Hop. I just love this!! In fact, I'm working on a tablescape of my own (I plan on posting it next week) with material that has very similar colors and design for my tablecloth, as well! Even on a hot day, your spread looks cool and collected! Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful outside tablescape. Love your stack of dishes on the cute tabletopper. Your tables are always so beautiful especially outside. The centerpiece is lovely. Take care of your burn.

This is lovely! The fabric is so pretty, your dau won't mind a few spaghetti stains on it, it adds character! :)
Love the taupe with the blue, and the way the fold of the napkin mimics the peony petals, so pretty!
Prayers for healing for the people of Colorado. It can happen anywhere. I am still not over 9 11 here in NY.
It is just so hard to believe the senseless murders.
Hope you get cooler weather!
