A Stylish Cure!

I've been sick for the last three days. I kept waiting for my energy to return, so I could dive head first into another tablescape. But, I would look at my stack of dishes and just sigh. I didn't want to skip a week, so I went with how I feel.

In an attempt to cheer myself up, I put together a trayscape.

I tried both a red apple and a green one. I love the pop of color of the green one.

The plate and matching bowl and cup came from Ross, but weren't purchased at the same time.
If I really love something, I will patiently wait for pieces to come available.

This very special teapot is part of a set made for me at the time of my first wedding by my
parent's next door neighbor. Let's see...that makes it...uh, very old. It has amazing detail.

The handle has a hand!

A little bit creepy. This side shows flying women chasing a man on a horse! I have no idea what that is about!

Here is the napkin ring from my fall table. I chose an ivory napkin to match the teapot.

Keeping with the season (though we got more snow today) I put together an arrangement of silk leaves,
fall flowers and berries. I bought this vase years ago at Goodwill, but have never used it.
I guess I was waiting for today.

I am always looking for trays and this one caught my eye for it's elegance and warm colors.

Ordinarily, I would not decorate with food, but I was in need of some chicken soup.

Let's face it, it's a little late for an apple a day to keep the doctor away.

So, my cure for everything is chocolate.

A few more shots. No candles--fire and cold medicine don't mix!

So, thank you for paying me a visit today. It's better than chicken soup!
And, next week, I promise a happy festive tablescape!

Please take a moment to visit my sister for a Florida fall table at Robin Flies South...

I will be joining Between Naps On The Porch for Tablescape Thursday!
Thank you, Susan, for hosting another fun blog party!

I would love to get new followers! I might be a little slow
visiting all your tablescapes this week, but I'll be there!

Sorry you're sick. I love your tray and I remember when you go that teapot. She made me a giant turkey and something else I can't remember for my wedding. Your trayscape came together very nicely and makes me want chicken soup.

Hope you're feeling better today. I'm sure what the soup, tea and apple won't cure.....the chocolate will! How pretty your sick bed tray is....a nice cheerful pick-me-up in its own way.

Ah Elaine, hope you are feeling better! I love your trayscape--the tray itself is so beautiful. Some weeks I find that I don't have the energy to do an elaborate tableshoot, so I go with something I have already shot (like last week's Home show) or I do something simple. You did a lovely job with this, even though you were feeling a bit 'under the weather'. I like the pitcher as well, very interesting!! All in all, great job! Thanks for your comments, I'm late responding this week as I've been out of town. Feel better!!
