I'm Elaine, a real estate stager, and my business is all about making things pretty. My favorite part of the job is working with what the homeowner already has, but over the years, I have collected quite an inventory of accessories. My basement looks like a store--a very messy, disorganized store!
I chose the title "Red-ed Bliss" because I was just married in May, and my sister gave me most of what is in my tablescape as a wedding present. I had been complaining about the lack of pretty patio dishes. I know she had fun picking them out!
When she asked me what color I wanted, I really didn't have a clue. I tend to shy away from red, but look how glorious this table looks!
I found the bowls and the lantern on clearance at Pier One. Reds are often hard to match, but I had no trouble with this shade (I call it Chinese red, but I don't really know why!) and the salt & pepper shakers I bought at TJ Maxx fit right in!
The glasses are part of my inventory and they were a fabulous find! Eight of them for under $3 at Goodwill!
Red is such a strong color, it definitely needed the yellow flowers to break it up!
Layering the plates couldn't have been easier! I went with white napkins, though I had tried green.
As the sunlight started to fade, the table took on a very nice pinkish glow.
I hope you enjoyed my first post! Come back any time! Next up: My favorite Parade of Homes features!

This turned out great! And you know I'm not a red person either. Great wine glasses, too. I'm so happy you are with me in Blogland! Now, if only we weren't 2000 or so miles apart, we could share dishes etc.
This is beautiful! And I'm not much of a red person either. Those are some pretty awesome patio dishes.

Hi, Elaine, and welcome to Tablescape Thursdays and the fun of "dishing" about dishes! We are always so glad to see new folks here, and you are going to have a ball with all the fun people who post here. I love the red! You're right...it's one of those colors that can often be difficult to match, but you got it just right here for sure! Your sister has a good eye with all the pretty items she purchased for your gift, too! I wish I could have gotten my hands on a few of those clearance lanterns from Pier 1. I love that store, and I wanted those lanterns...but only after the price came down. By the time I got there, there was nothing left of them. Rats! Congratulations on your new marriage, your new blog, and all the great things to come! Have a great weekend, and see you soon!
