Sister Act Elaine!

My sister, Robin, and I decided to have a little extra fun this week. We both bought the same appetizer plates a couple of months ago, and challenged each other to come up with a tablescape using them as the inspiration. We did have a rule limiting ourselves to just black and white. Here is the little plate that started it all!

I hope you enjoy the tablescape I came up with!

Two things I didn't want you to notice--our outdated faux brick vinyl
floor and the leaves that come in with the dogs! Oh well, we're friends, right?

As you have probably guessed, the centerpiece came
from my yard! The leaves were cut from tissue paper.

I used my new silver placemats from Z Galleries.

I paired solid black napkins with print ones I made.

I did add a bird or two.

Let's see what's on the menu. Of course, I stayed with the bird theme. If you don't eat fowl, you are out of luck. The love birds in a cage are a stamp I found at Michael's.

The candles are wrapped in scrapbook paper.

Keeping with the rules, I even hung a black and white Picasso.

Time to light the candles.

I took a few shots after it got dark. Everything was sparkling!

I hope you enjoyed my half of our sister act. Robin and I kept our tablescapes
secret from each other, so as I am writing this, I have not seen hers!
If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to visit Robin Flies South...

Thank you to Susan at Between Naps On The Porch  for hosting Tablescape Thursday and Marty for hosting Table Top Tuesday!

This is really beautiful. I love those placemats and using the square plate with the round. For a minute I thought your branches were lit too. This was fun and we have to do it again.

This is so cool!!! I haven't been over to Robin's blog yet, but she's got some pretty stiff competition here!!! You did a fantastic job! You even made leaves out of tissue paper...THAT in and of itself deserves some sort of medal! I love the way you wrapped the candles in scrapbook paper. That really opens up your options without spending a ton of money! Love that idea! I recognized the Z Gallerie placemats right off the bat. LOVE that store!!! Great table!

Just love that bird on the plates! The napkins you made look just perfect with the plates -- like they were designed for each other the way the branches and leaves are on the fabric. I don't have a Z near me so I've never seen those placemats before but they are very unique and carry the branch theme. Never would have noticed the floor if you didn't say something. The tablescape is perfectly put together right down to the Picasso!

I always love black and white. Your table is very unique with those interesting placemats and your centerpiece. Adding the scrapbook paper to change up the candles is a great idea. Very well done!

I have those appetizer plates, too. You've inspired me to come up with a setting using them. Such fun!
