Holiday Comeback!!!

Creating Wonderful Spaces is back! Where have I been, you might ask.

I would love to say I was climbing Mount Kilimanjaro...

 or sailing around the world...

or on a whirlwind book signing tour.

But, the truth is...

I was injured.

Because all my "stuff" is in the basement, my knee told me I needed to take a break from tablescaping for awhile. Four weeks ago I had surgery, and my knee is better than ever! So, bring on the tablescaping!!!

I decided to do a simple table for two. I hope you enjoy!

Now, this next photo made me laugh. I try so hard to be carefree and spontaneous. I thought I was scattering the ornaments in a haphazard way. Then I saw this photo and darned if they aren't perfectly symmetrical.

I love the heart-shaped cutout!

The bowls, planters, and runner came from Ross
The ornaments came from Burlington Coat Factory
EVERYTHING ELSE came from thrift stores

Get OUTTA here! Oh, my goodness! I'm so sorry you were hobbling around and in pain, but glad it's over and you're feeling better now. Surgery is a bummer. Your "comeback" table is a hit! It's funny you mention the ornaments' symmetry because that's one of the first things I noticed about the table and loved! It's almost like looking at the balls racked up on a pool table...but a whole lot prettier! :-) Please take care of your little self! Welcome back!!!!!

Elaine, so sorry about your injury, hope you are on the mend.
What a pretty table for two. Are those Eddie Bauer salad plates? I had 4, but being a little on the clumsy side, I now have 1...a plant is sitting on it!

Whoohoo! You've been missed! So glad you are mobile again :-) I love the bowls with the cutouts and the flatware is to die for! It looks like you set up the ornaments to play pool lol! Welcome back buddy!

Oh, I forgot to mention! I'm hosting a holiday link party that starts tonight for tablescapes and mantels. I hope you stop by and link up your table!

So glad that you are better!! OMG. You were probably climbed Kilimanjaro in rehab, sailed somewhere nice in your dreams and signed so many forms, it may as well have been a book! Your table is fabulous.. Love the sweet bowls! and the ornaments on the table.. mine always look symmetrical too.. xo marlis

Your table is lovely, I can't believe you did that on crutches! Love the gold tones with the red stem, very pretty!

Sorry about your injury. I love your gold flatware. My mother always set the b-day person's place with gold flatware. Love the checked plates too. Joni

Most of the time our table is for two and making it special is a way of showing that you care. Good for you.

How wonderful that you are on the mend. Tablescaping does take a lot of carrying and running around and you sound like me - it is up and down the steps. It would be hysterical to see the "behind the scenes" with piles of dishes moved to reach the ones I want and cupboards open and things that are a mess out of the reach of the camera!
I love your combination of the white and checkerboard with the elegance of the gold. How elegant to be invited to sit at this table. It has a very regal air to it!

It's lovely! I like the mix of black and white with the gold.
Glad you are better and back in business. Climbing stairs with dishes can be tricky even with two good knees. LOL
