There once was a door...
And on that door, there was a wreath...
And in that wreath, there was a nest...
And in that nest, there were three eggs...
And never far, there was a mom...
Who warmed those eggs...
Which held her babies...
Who needed to be fed...
So they could grow...
And fly away.
The house is the one I grew up in.
The perfect wreath was made by my mom.
The photos were taken by my dad.
Happy Mother's Day!

I never learn! I know to wait until Memorial Day to put up up hanging planters on the porch out front. So, what did I do last weekend? Yep, I hung the planters. What did Mr. B discover last night? Doves building a nest in one of them. Down they came before it was too late! Your father's photos are beautiful as is your mother's wreath :) Thank you for linking this up this week ♥
Oh so beautiful and sweet! I'm in the deep south, so our babies have been hatching for quite a while! My next door neighbor had a nest, and the most beautiful sound every morning was of those babies tweeting (and not on their iPhones, either!). They all 'flown the coop' now, but it was such a joy!!!
Thanks for sharing your Dad's fabulous photos!

Many people hate it when this happens -- I love it! It happened to me once a few years ago so we just didn't use the front door for a while :) What a beautiful post and pictures showing the timeline of these little birds!
Awww! That is a very cool post! I love it. :)
OH what a delightful sweet post.
It was done perfectly, wow - amazing - so sweet!
Robins will build a nest anywhere! One built a nest above the back door at my mother's, opening and closing never bother mama bird...good thing as everyone used that door.
What great pics Dad took! I love the way you composed this post too. I miss the way the front porch looked with the flowers and fresh wreath.

Love the Mother Tale! The photos tell the story and the love of all Mothers. You are so thoughtful to share it and this is so appropriate for us to thing of other kinds of Mothers and how they care for their young. We had birds build their nest in the top of our back porch which was next to our bedroom. We could hear their bird voices as they cried for Mother Bird. Hope you have a Special Mother's Day!
