Dramatic Bath Remodel!

Words cannot describe how excited I am about our bathroom remodel! Our home is a brick bungalow, built in 1953. My husband owned this house when I met him, and since I fell in love with everything about him, I love this house, too.

When I first saw this bathroom, I admit I thought it had it's charm. I wasn't crazy about the blue bath tub and sink (different blues, of course) but I thought the tile was pretty.

The vanity, medicine cabinet, towel bar and toilet paper holder were all oak, which I painted white a couple of years ago.

I really did like the tile.

It wasn't just the style that was dated. The plumbing was old and in bad shape.

The bathroom had no exhaust fan and years of steamy showers left peeling paint on the ceiling.

Our contractor is a dear friend and his nephew did the tile work. They completely gutted it, so everything is new! I present...drum roll, please...our NEW bathroom!

I put together some side by side before and afters.

Other than my skin drying out from taking too long showers, I am LOVING our new bathroom! A huge thanks to Dan and George for making our dream bathroom a reality!

Hope you enjoyed the transformation!

I thought you might be interested in where everything was purchased.

This is absolutely fab! The photo of the sink first caught my eye and was hooked from there. You (and your assistants) did a marvelous job and glad you're pleased. Colors make this look bigger, brighter and over-all, a great place to spend some time. Kudos!!

Wow Elaine! You lived up to the name of your blog! Everything comes together perfectly! I am in love with it all but especially the use of the shelves. I am planning to do a small redo in our powder room and I am totally stealing that idea! Thanks for sharing this at the party this week!

Yes, the tile design was really lovely. Have you had a hard time giving that up, or have you tried to even incorporate it in the new bathroom interior? But anyway, the new look of the space was lovely in general and not just the tiles. Plus, it looks so modern. :D I want your sink! I love it simply because it’s very crafty. Congrats!

This transformation is indeed DRAMATIC, Elaine! The condition of your bathroom before all the altering process is quite bad, and it seems like it has to be renovated immediately. It’s great that you did not hesitate to modify the room. Remodeling is not just to smarten up a certain area of the house, but it is also a great way of cleaning and removing all the unwanted damages and dirt f the room.
