Harvest Kickstart!

Why did I title this post Harvest Kickstart? Because, I haven't created a tablescape in many weeks, and this one almost didn't happen. I don't know if I needed a Red Bull or what, but this tablescape was going SO slow! I should be was committed to doing it outdoors, and the weather was iffy all week. Anyway, it took me awhile to get back in the swing of things, so "kickstart" is just a nicer way of saying kick in the a**.

I (really) hope you enjoy!!!

Last week I was complaining how early the pumpkins were in stores and this week I bought one. Can you say "hypocrite"?

Yes, the filler in this mason jar is what you think it is.

When you have ten million little tomatoes, you get real creative! I'm wearing a necklace made from them.

I was so excited when I heard this month's challenge would be "Harvest". Months ago, I found these cute little pots at Goodwill for $1.49 each.

I bought one of each vegetable! Aren't they adorable?

Nothing says fall like sunflowers!

Quick story--I bought these napkins last spring at Tuesday Morning, but they only had two. I checked their other stores and no luck. Last week I found the matching tablecloth at Burlington Coat Factory. I bought it, thinking I would cut it down to a square and make two napkins from the leftover fabric. What I didn't know was the pattern was only on the border, so I had to cut out the middle of it. Next time, I am taking the item I'm considering OUT of the package in the store. If it isn't what I want, I'll just stuff it back in the package inside out like everybody else does. Just kidding. I'm too OCD to do that.

All dishes and glasses, salt & pepper shakers,
and metal pedestal bowl came from Goodwill
Placemats are from World Market
Flatware from SteinMart
Vera tablecloth from BCF
Some of the napkins are from (never mind, let's not relive that)
Mason jars are from my magic basement

Oh, this gave me a good belly laugh!!! You are SO funny!!! Doesn't that just rattle your cage, though, when you think you have solved a problem only to have created another one? At any rate, the table turned out just great!!! I LOVE the idea of using the cherry tomatoes as filler!!!!!!!!!! VERY creative! The little casserole dishes you found at GW are FABULOUS for this table, and I'm sure you'll get a lot of good use out of them in the future. Good job on carving out the pumpkin. I have NEVER been able to do that without wreaking havoc. I'm just not that steady. I am really diggin' the flatware. It has a very polished look about it. I may have to slide through Stein Mart to take a look. I haven't been there in awhile. VERY nicely done!!! Happy Fall!
