Style Over-Easy!

My goodness, it has been a long time since I posted! But, I am back and had such fun with this tablescape. Now that the holidays are behind us, it's anything goes! My black kitchen table and chairs (which you can see here) now live with my daughter. The new set is very similar but can open to become a square!

Now, let's see if we can figure out which came first--the chicken or the egg!

This tablescape started with the bowls, which came from Ross. I've had them for months but just couldn't figure out what to do with them.

Right before Christmas, I found the matching plates on Target's website! And, they were on clearance!

I bought the tray at the same time as the bowls. Unfortunately, I hit the bag against the doorway as I was bringing it into the house, and now there's a chip on the edge (lower right).

I bought these glasses at my favorite Goodwill.
I think the design is fun, and felt they were perfect
for my "fun" tablescape!

I love the shape of this chicken! She kind of reminds
me of what I looked like after Thanksgiving dinner!

The tablecloth from Ross really pulled this table together.

Straw placemats and napkins came from World Market.

Salt & pepper shakers and butter dish
were purchased months apart!

One last shot of the crazy chicken!

No chickens or eggs were harmed during
the creation of this tablescape!

My cat, Eddie, spends tablescape time closed up in my office. Isabel likes to watch me at work, but there was no sign of her. I thought she had finally gotten bored with it all,
until I lifted the tablecloth.

I will be joining Tablescape Thursday

So cute! I never saw those dishes at my Ross. You can touch up that tray with a black sharpie (I do that all the time with chips!). I like the chubby chicken too and the plaid tablecloth is a perfect compliment to the dishes and butter dish etc. Wow, we went in totally different directions this week, didn't we? Ha!

Such a fun and cheery table! I think breakfast would be perfect for this table. I love the plates and bowls. We have a couple of hens so I love all chicken things. I especially love the napkins -- I would use those a lot. Joni

This is so cute and cheery! Love your pretty dishes and that chic chicken! Oh didn't you just die when you chipped your new tray? Try getting some fingernail polish and see if you can't paint it --- I've "polished" many a chip....and it doesn't wash off!

I just adore your fun tablescape with your new dishes. And your chubby chicken is the perfect touch on your table. Those were some great suggestions about how to repair the chip.

This table really makes me smile! It's so cute and cheery! And how lucky to find the plates -- at a different store -- after having the bowls. I love the way you've styled the dishes with the plaid cloth and rattan mats!

Welcome home!!! Good to see you back! And you came back swinging a very powerful bat for a total homerun!!! This is such a cheerful table...makes me want to tap my foot and sing!!! It really is incredibly cheery and bright! You scored on the Target website with the plates! Good for you!!! Don't you just love it when things like that happen? You pulled together a fabulous table with a lot of elements from different places...it just all works together so brilliantly! It's a shame about the platter mishap, but a little high gloss paint strategically placed will knock that ol' boo-boo right out! Terrific table! Have a great weekend!
