On my birthday, Mr. Wonderful came home with a dozen roses for me. It turned out, these particular roses are called Hot Lady. I thought they were appropriate for me because, well, I'm hot ninety percent of each day. But, I'm sure the name refers to the "hot" pink color. Anyway, these roses were the inspiration for my tablescape.
I hope you enjoy!
I bought these placemats for the reverse side which is black and white polka dot. Who knew I would use the pink side first!
I decided to mix contemporary dishes, stemware, and flatware, with traditional lead crystal candlesticks. I think the roses pull it all together.
Perfect setting for my glass bird.
The colors changed as the sun started to go down.
Ever have one rose that goes limp before the others? Don't throw it out--you can use the petals, like I did here! They should last through dinner before drying up.
Take away two place settings, and you have a romantic Valentine's Day dinner!
Stemware, white plates, glass bird, and candlesticks are from Goodwill
Napkins and black plates are from World Market
Flatware is from Burlington Coat Factory
White bowls are from Big Lots
Placemats are from Ross

Drop dead gorgeous Elaine! And I get what you mean by being hot lol :-) I love everything about your sweet birthday table. Happy belated birthday friend!
Hey Hot Lady! I love, love this table! Blessings, Tammy
I really like the contrast between the hot pink and black.
And yay for husbands that bring their wives roses (:
What a beautiful, elegant table. The combination of colors is quite stunning, and I like all the details on the table!
Your table looks so pretty dressed in pink. Very elegant Dianne
Beautiful table, Elaine. Thankfully I am past that stage of being hot 90% of the time. I love the stemware.
Oh my! That table is so pretty. Those placemats were the perfect ones to compliment the roses. Wow!
I think those placemats and the roses were meant for each other! That's a great tip about the roses. I usually cut the limp one very short and float it. It usually revives enough for that. Your table is so elegant and so romantic! Linda
Well, Happy Belated Birthday! What a nice gift from your husband! I'm SURE he bought hot pink Hot Lady roses because you're a hot chick...and not in the "flashes" way! :-) (Isn't that wild that we get to a point in our lives that when we describe ourselves as "hot" that's what we're referring to??!?!?!!) :-) Hubby's choice goes so perfectly with your placemats, and you just pulled the whole look together! I love the napkin!!! Well done, darlin'! (Did J.R. Ewing just take over my body??!?!?!) Have a great weekend! :-)
I had to laugh at the hot all day comment.. LOL. The table is stunning!!!! I think the napkin fold is the crowning touch. Perfect placemats to pull it all together.. xo marlis
Thank you for sharing your tablescape at my NTT party.
Blessings,
Linda
What wonderful inspiration those roses were! I loved your interpretation of "Hot Lady"! The pink and black table show the roses off to perfection. Can't wait to see the other side of the placemats on a future table!
Just lovely! The roses are really stunning. I love a simple yet elegant table!

I loved how the hot pink of the placemats complemented the pink flowers. Hot indeed!
Such a lovely tablescape. I love the pink and black, such a dramatic color scheme and so beautiufl. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
What a sweet hubby to bring you the hot pink roses for your birthday. I love the petals on the table. Great buys at Goodwill and Ross.
This is such a nice table! Those roses are wonderful and the entire table is so pretty! I am a huge fan of both Ross and Goodwill, so it's great to see more of the good bargains, too! =D
LOVE your table! I am dying to see the reverse side of those, how cute! I also love the way you folded your napkins, I have NO napkin skills...and the rose petals are the perfect touch to make it look a little relaxed and dreamy...Thanks for sharing! Visiting from the Tablescaper

Stunning Elaine!! Your table is simple gorgeous in every sense! I love those hot roses and how you worked your table around the lovely hot pink color. The centerpiece with the four candles, (very Jackelyn Kennedy) and the dishes with black, the lovely folded napkins...magazine worth! Thanks for your sweet comment.. do let me know if you made the cake!

These roses are beautiful, and look so special on your table. I love the color. I wish I had a rose bush in my back yard in this same color. Your table is very nice, and I love the furniture. Happy Monday.
